Some New Stuff in the Job Search World
First off, I always hesitate to label anything as “merely” job search when I write about anything that Jason Alba is doing. It’s funny, because I work sqarely in the job search space. I own job boards. People search for and apply to jobs on them. But Jason, you see, is about “career management,” and that’s a bigger topic (and a bigger undertaking). Now, of course, on the blog here I’ll occasionally delve into that larger and not-mutually-exclusive topic of career management. Primarily, however, we’re all about the job search here.
Now that I’ve got that off my chest, I was reading a post on the JibberJobber blog today when I realized that Jason is launching yet another initiative in the “space” in which we both work. This new adventure of Jason’s is called Job Search Talk, and it’s a blog about, well…everything that has to do with the career search and management as well as the tools that surround the whole process. The site was launched by both Jason and HireVue CEO Mark Newman.
Definitely worth checking out, as pretty much everything Jason does in this space is worth at least a look. Jason’s touting this as the “TechCrunch of the job search world,” while making certain to make no claims about supplanting TechCrunch (that really would be something!).
